Monday Results - First UKOPS Cash

Last night was another rough one for me with the one saving grace being my first UKOPS cash of the series.

I should quickly update why this is going out so late, had a busy day so this is literally the first time I've been able to sit at my PC, tonight I'm taking off and should be back tomorrow evening with some more UKOPS.

Lets go over some of the pots from the UKOPS event, prepare for screen cap spam....

First all in spot of the tournament

Flipping to stay alive

Flipping once again for 25 BB's

UKOPS Booty and small pot

Another Booty and some big pot poker

Eventually got it in with top pair vs a flush draw and he rivered it. 27th for £32.58

So, a decent cash but was hoping for more, it was £500 plus bounties for first and we weren't miles away from that.

Other than this score its was a disappointing night, I was hoping for some deep runs in the DTD events, but it wasn't to be.

Variance has not been in my favour so far in the series, but we will keep grinding through it until we get the big score.

Full results below -

Total Tournaments - 8
Tournament Profit/Loss - £-7.55
Sit n Go Profit/Loss - £+2.70
Total Profit/Loss - £-4.85

Bankroll - £411

Another tough session but the tournaments are always going to have higher variance, the one good thing however with Sky is the tournament fields are smaller, therefore making variance lower while still offering big prizes up top.

Hope you guys have had a great halloween and I shall see you next time.

Schedule - DTD Monday's

The DTD events today are a breath of fresh air after all the big buy ins and events last night. It offers some smaller buy ins and less variance while still having a UKOPS event tonight with big prizes.

There are 3 events and I'm not sure if I have gone over the weekly/monthly prizes for DTD.

As you can see above there are some decent prizes for the top 3 in the weekly draw, and the monthly you have the opportunity to win a £220 seat!
Pretty awesome considering the buy ins are only £2/£1/£2.

We also have a UKOPS Event tonight, it's event 19 £11 Bounty Hunter with a 3k Guarantee.

For all of you thinking about playing higher there is a £110 and a £22 tonight as well. I may try a satty into the £110 if there's any running.

Lets get into tonights full schedule -

Total Tournaments - 9
Total Buy Ins - £45.70

Bankroll - £416

Been thinking about last nights session and the lack of focus in parts so the goal tonight will be to put 100% focus into the events and try and work my way back to £500.

I may be going live at some point tonight on my Twitch Channel. So if you want to follow it live head to this link from 7.30pm onwards.

Hope to see some of you in the stream later and if not have a great night, I'll be back with the results in the morning.

Session Results - The Sunday Curse?

Last night was a painful session to say the least, it's the first time since the challenge began that I've had 0 cashes in a session, only picking up a couple of bounties along the way.

Don't want to moan too much about bad beats on here but it was a brutal night. The poker gods definitely weren't on my side.

I do think part of the reason was down to lack of focus at the beginning of the session, I made a couple of decisions where I folded what was most likely the best hand. I think this was just down to focusing on the lobby a bit too much looking for satellites and tournaments to play.

Let's take a look at some of the hands from my UKOPS Event 14 last night -

This pot was reasonably early in the Event, decent one to win taking us to around 40 BB's.

The bust out hand in the end was pretty standard, I jammed 11 BB's and got called by the button.

The 10k pot would've put us in a good spot to go deep and given us just over 30 BB's at the time.
I was pretty happy with how I played in this event, but there were definitely some mistakes in other event last night.

Lets take a look at the full results and bankroll update -

Tournaments - 9 + 2 £4.80 Satellites.
Tournament Profit/Loss - £-59.33
Total Profit/Loss - £-59.33

Bankroll - £416

Overall, not the worst losing night I've had but it's a big hit to the challenge at this stage for sure. We will be back though, there are more days of great UKOPS action to come and one deep run can get us all that money back.

Hope everyone had a better night than me last night and I'll be back later with tonights schedule.

Sunday 29 October 2017

Tonight's Schedule - UKOPS Sunday

Sunday's, as I have mentioned before on here are the most important day of the week for an online poker player, especially tournament players, like myself.

But today is going to be even bigger because we have UKOPS running, so theres some huge events tonight and a lot of big prizes to play for.

Tonights event for me is the 8.30pm UKOPS 14 Mini Bounty Hunter. But if you play higher there are also these events available this evening -

We will be trying satellites into the £22 and £110. Super good value and some massive guarantees tonight.

Here is my full tournament schedule for this evening -

Total Tournaments - 9
Total Buy Ins - £57.20

Bankroll - £476

There are going to be quite a few satellites this evening that I have not included on this list, but i'm not sure as of yet what i'll be hopping in and some of them as we have seen before don't run so I will post those alongside the results.

I'm sure some of you eagle eyed and regular readers will see that the 20.15 £11 BH is missing tonight, I think they have taken it off the schedule for an extra UKOPS event, so I have added the bigger £11 that I don't usual play at 21.30 instead.

This would be a great night to run pure and get a nice UKOPS run. I'm sure i'll see some of you on the tables this evening and good luck to all involved.

Hope you have a great night and I shall be back tomorrow morning with the results.

Friday Results - UKOPS Deep Run?

Last night was a later start than usual, mainly because I didn't get home until late, but also because there were more UKOPS satty's and events later in the evening.

The session started off well, I made a great start in the £4.40 UKOPS satellite and at the same time was making a deep run in the £5.30 satty. At this time I had also picked up a bounty in the first £11 BH and built up a nice stack early.

I then had a big spot that I lost with QT<AT on a T high board where I had to call off two streets for a chunk of my stack in the first £11.

The great position in the satellites also didn't end well, bubbling both for UKOPS seats/cash.
At one point in the session I had 7 tables so I may have missed some ICM spots in the satty's that I may not have made if I was playing say 4 or 5.

£4.40 and £5.30 Satellite's

I can usually cope fine with 6 tables, but with the short time banks on Sky it can be tough to make correct decisions and not miss any +EV situations.
Saying that, I don't think it affected the results of the session overall, the spots I did get my money in were pretty standard, just could win the flips when it counted.

Next we are going to cover my first UKOPS event of the series, event 03 £11 Bounty Hunter. The first thing I noticed was the table being super soft, the first pot had everyone limping in pre.

I picked up a nice size early bounty and was cruising along nice at around 30 bb's for at least an hour.

The blinds then went up and I found a spot to get my money in.

As you can see above we couldn't hold up this time for 5k and just under 20 bb's. We came close to getting into not one, but two bigger UKOPS events last night, and obviously did what we could to go deep in this one.
Hopefully we can ship some seats into bigger events in future and lock up some big cashes.

The site overall was great last night for day 1, lots of new names and faces at the tables, and I really enjoyed the night's action, even though we didn't secure any huge cashes.

Let's take a look at results from the session -

Total Tournaments - 9
Tournament Profit/Loss - -£16.86
Total Profit/Loss - -£16.86

Bankroll - £476

Didn't play any sit n go's last night just due to having so many tables throughout and no downtime to add some in.

We almost made a final table, and picked up a lot of bounties in the later £11 BH.

Overall happy with I played though was super focused due to having so much action throughout the night and put myself in good positions to go deep.

Would love to dive right back in there this evening, but have a family birthday to attend so I will be back sunday with a big night of tournaments and more great UKOPS action.

Until then, thanks a lot again for the support and great feedback. Good luck to everyone in the big events tonight and I'll see you all sunday.

Friday 27 October 2017

Friday Schedule - UKOPS Day 1!

Today is the first of 10 in the UKOPS series on Sky Poker. The guarantees are big, fields soft, and opportunities to win big money are better than ever. Let's run good over the next 10 days people.

Our first event will be Event 03 (£11 Bounty Hunter £3k Guarantee). With the opportunity to satellite into some more events throughout the night.

Tonight's schedule will look a little different to the usual friday, with potential some extra room to add some more UKOPS satellites in if we have the table space.

Tournaments - 9 (At Least)
Total Buy ins - £57.20

As I said above that is subject to change this evening with there being so many good satellites running to some of the bigger UKOPS events.

Lets hope to go out there a pick up some nice cashes, and as always good luck to all of you grinding along side me this evening.

Thursday 26 October 2017

UKOPS (UK Online Poker Series)

UKOPS is the biggest tournament series on Sky Poker with a ton of big events and prize pools.

The series in total will have £375,000 Guaranteed and will go on for 10 days starting tonight (Friday 17th October)

We have some interest in the series for the challenge, I will be looking to jump in as many £5.50s and £11s as I can and then get involved in a few satellites for the bigger events.

Most of the events will fit nicely into our schedule with them running between 7 - 10pm every evening.

The first event we will be playing is going to be tonight at 8.30pm. It's UKOPS 03 - £11 Mini Bounty Hunter £3000 Guaranteed.

If you are interested in seeing the full schedule with all 54 events you can find it HERE.

This series is great for Sky Poker players and should be good for our challenge, not only does it offer us the chance at bigger payouts, it also brings a lot of new players to the site, which in turn accounts for bigger prize pools across all the events we are playing.
So if there's ever a time to run good, that would be now.

Good luck to all you guys out there if you are playing. Let me know if you get any deep runs in some events, and  I hope to see you there!

Wednesday Results - WE SHIPPED ONE

The proverbial monkey has been lifted off my back in the challenge. We shipped one last night! I ran super good in some huge spots and dominated the final table.

The tournament in question is the £2.20 Bounty Hunter, £500 Guarantee. Albeit not one of the biggest buy ins, but the field gets pretty big in this one so the score was still decent.

I was hovering around 10 bigs for a long time in the 2.20 until we hit the 100/200 level where I spun up 2k into like 25k. From there it was pretty easy going until the final table.

We quickly lost a short stack at the start of the final, but because we were all at least 20bb's deep, we were sitting on 5 players for what was at least an hour. I managed to maintain a 180kish stack for that whole time picking up small pots sporadically.

I then had one of the sickest hands for a lot of chips. It was a standard spot but because of the pot size/runout it was pretty crazy.
I opened AQo OTB with around 20BB's (180k), the SB jams for 247k. I obviously call and het turns over KK. The board ran out 97Q 5 A! For a 386k stack 3 handed as you can see below.

From that position it was a relatively straight forward finish, and on the second hand playing heads up I got this spot with AA.

It's super difficult to get a screenshot at just the right time while you're in a session, but I managed to get this spot for all the chips, cash, and trophy!

Lets check out the full results from the session -

Total Tournaments - 9
Tournament Profit/Loss - £+67.52
Sit n Go Profit/Loss - £+8.20
Total Profit/Loss - £+75.72

Bankroll - £493

Green figures all round and almost back to even on the challenge. Super good session and a fun night of tournaments.

Hope you guys are enjoying the blog and the challenge so far.
Going to take tonight off and come back fresh for a big session on friday evening, where we will go for the back to back.

Nice to get the challenge moving in a good direction, good luck to all on the grind tonight and I'll see you all next time.

Wednesday 25 October 2017

Wednesday Night Schedule

Tonights schedule is going to be very similar to last nights, and lets hope it can be similar in terms of results. Had a great night last night playing on stream, but tonight I'm going to be grinding off stream and putting 100% focus into the session.

Lets get right into the schedule -

Total Tournaments - 9
Total Buy ins - £53.20

Bankroll - £418

The Mini Predator is one of the most fun tournaments of the week so I'm hoping to get a deep run in that one this evening.
Again, the goal for tonight is to book another winning session and play my best game.

Good Luck to any of you guys that are on the grind tonight, I'll be back tomorrow with the results.

Tuesday Results - Double Final Tables!

Its a new dawn, it's a new day... and yesterday, it was finally a winning day for me!
With a little help from two final tables and a very close shave for a win we have managed to finally book a winning day on the challenge.

The session started off super bad, I lost the £7.70 before I started the stream up getting in AQ vs 77 on Q7xxx and losing the £5.50 around 10 minutes later.
I did however manage to pick up some chips and bounties early in the £11 £500 GTD. Always nice to get a good start in the bigger buy ins.

Big hand early in the Sky £11 BH

From there we managed to maintain a pretty decent stack to the final table. Made a few shuvs that went uncontested. But we were always short, eventually getting it in with KJ<A5 to finish 5th.

5th Place £11 BH for around £40

I was then left with the £5.50 Mini Gold Rush and the £5.50 FreezeOut. Once I lost the £5.50 Mini I decided to take the grind off stream and 1 table the last tournament of the day.

I managed to build up a nice stack throughout and felt super good about how I was playing. Because of the smaller fields in these if you can get a stack early you can pretty much lock up a final table, and that's just what we did.

£5.50 FreezeOut Final Table

We then got into one of the sickest hands I have ever played on Sky against reg Darryl1976.

He ended up having TT in this spot and I won myself a huge pot. Super sick spot for him at this point in the tournament.
From there we managed to keep getting into good spots with big hands and ended up heads up with a big chip lead.

From there though the luck switched around, he got it in for his last 10 bigs, I called with A4s, he showed QQ for the double. I then got it in with QQ myself for the win vs his A4o and lost making me the shorter stack.
I managed to get a double right back off him to take a slight chip lead. We ended up getting it in with an open ender and a flush draw for the tournament and missed everything.

So, at the end of the day there wasnt much more I couldve done. Got it in as the favourite twice for the tournament, ending up 2nd for £35.

Lets take a look at the full results from last night -

Total Tournaments - 8
Tournament Profit/Loss - £+24.65
Sit n Go Profit/Loss - -£1.80
Total Profit/Loss - £+22.85

Bankroll - £418

Hope you guys like the new layout for the results/schedule. Nice to finally book a winning day, I will be back shortly with tonights schedule of tournaments.

Tuesday 24 October 2017

Tuesday Schedule

I honestly feel great today after my day off, after a few losing sessions I haven't lost any motivation to play and I'm still motivated to work hard to improve and bounce back.

Tonight will be back to normal with the weekday MTT's, but coming soon that all changes with UKOPS just round the corner. More info to come on that very soon.

Let's get right into the schedule and a brand new look to go with it -

Tournaments - 9
Buy ins - £54.20

Bankroll - £395

I may go longer and play more later tournaments tonight depending how it all goes through the session. If I feel like i'm playing my best game then I will definitely register some later tournaments.

Hopefully we can do a winning update at the end of today, we've come close with some of the sessions but we haven't quite made it over the line so tonight has to be the night!

I will also at some point be streaming the session live over on AY123TV. So check out that link if you want to sweat the action with me.

Hope you guys have a great night, and I'll see you all later either on stream or for the session review.

Bankroll Management (£500 Challenge)

Welcome back people.

I just wanted to take some time on my day off the tables to go over the bankroll management limits I am following for this challenge.
It will give you guys a rough idea of when I may be close to moving up/down throughout the challenge.

Level 1 I've only gone for around 20 buy ins, I think this is fine for any reasonably experienced players, especially when playing the slower structures.
The fields tend to be super soft and you can print money in these games if you are disciplined.

Level 2 is the £5.50's, these account for the bulk of my sessions on a daily basis. On my current bankroll they are perfect, however I have put a very aggressive £100 BR on them.
This can be changed to £150 - £200 if you don't feel as confident, but I think £100 is okay as long as you are willing to move down after losing a few buy ins.

Level 3 is currently the highest I can go to, and I am actually quite close to having to cut them out from my session's right now.
£350 is the minimum you want before you move up to the 11s in my opinion, however you can play them with less if you, again feel happy to drop down if necessary. You can still add in some sunday and special one off 11s.

Level 4 will be the next jump for me in the challenge, you only really get one or two £22's a day to play, but they are nice to be able to flick in if you have the bankroll to do so.

Level 5 I have gone for £33 and above, simply because there aren't a lot of buy ins per day on Sky over that buy in. You will be able to play 2 - 3 of these max per day, so the £33's I'd be happy to take a shot at with £1k and for the £55's, you may want to have £1500 - £2000.

But, to grind the £110 tournaments you would need to be significantly higher rolled for them. I haven't gone into detail with the buy ins you need for those because it's all personal preference and how much you are willing to risk.

Sky is a site you can generally be more aggressive with tournament bankroll management due to the soft games and smaller fields.
You don't have to follow the rules that the stars players follow because a lot of the tournaments on there have 10x or more than a Sky MTT. This only increases variance and means you need more buy ins to account for that.

I hope this can help some of you out there that are new to the game or are just playing and were not aware of this concept.

I'll leave this on a separate page for new people in the blog to easily access and for you to refer back to easily.

Let me know in the comments below if you disagree with any of the points I made here.

I'll be back soon with the next session and a winning day!

Sunday Results

Sunday, sunday, sunday.... It can be a great day for an online poker player, or it can be a disappointing one. For me, this time it was the later.

The session started pretty bad, I busted the £5.50 and early £11 pretty quick but my first deep run came in the form of the £7.70 BH. I managed to pick up a stack and some bounties early and because of the fast nature of the tournament, was pretty quickly nearing the bubble.

I then think I made a misplay, but i'll go through it and you guys can let me know if this was a mistake or not.

I open the button with KQo, the BB flats. Flop Q97 2 diamonds. I bet around half the pot, villain calls. Turn is another 7. I bet around 1k (half the pot) and villain shuvs for around 3k more.
I decided to call off because of the money I had invested into the pot, and the pot odds I was getting.
Thought he could still have some flush draws with a pair, but is the villains range too strong here to call off?

Anyway, that left me with around 10 bigs and I got it in with AT vs A5 and lost, but the key hand was obviously the one previous.

The second deep run came in the form of the £11 Bounty Hunter at 20.15. I picked up a lot of big bounties throughout and was feeling super confident in my game.
But, a couple losing flips later and that was it, I cashed for around £25 in 11th place.
I was never really super deep stacked, but managed to pick off some nice bounties along the way.

Let's take a look at the results table -

Total Tournaments - 8 Extra's - 1 (£3.60 BH Satty)
Tournament Profit/Loss - £- 25.69
Sit n Go Profit/Loss - £- 6.60
Total Profit/Loss - £- 31.29

Bankroll - £395

So, another losing day, and the biggest one to date. Not what I needed for the challenge, but I honestly still feel very confident I can pull this back.
At stages last night I felt like I way more focused than I had been throughout this challenge.

The variance in tournaments is very high as I'm sure a lot of you are aware. I've just got to keep focused, make sure I'm playing my best and the results will follow.

I'm going to take this evening off, work on my game and go over the last few sessions to see what I can improve on, and be back fresh tuesday to get back to winning ways.

Until then, I'll see you all next time.

Sunday 22 October 2017

Sunday Schedule - First Challenge Sunday Grind

Today will be the first sunday I've had in the challenge. Sunday's are the biggest day for an online poker player, not so much for the buy in's, but for the potential winnings.
the games tend to be super soft and the prize pools bigger, giving me more chance at the big score.

Let's hope today can be the day I close one out and boost this bankroll.

Total Tournaments - 11
Total Buy ins - £67.50

Bankroll - £426

This is the highest amount in buy ins on the challenge so far and let's hope the first winning session as well.
I feel like once I get one winning night under the belt, then the results will start flooding in. So, lets make that night tonight!

GL to everyone on the sunday grind and i'll see you all very soon.

Saturday Recap

Last night was pretty much same again, had some super sick spots but managed to get myself to another final table.

That final table was the £5.50 Deep Stack. Finally got some luck in a big spot with 6 players left. Open jammed 10 bigs with A9 and got called by QQ and AK, board ran out A3469! That was for around 70k and second in chips at the final table.

I went card dead for a while after that, laddering my way up to 4th spot. But, then I jammed AQ and ran into AK vs a shorter stack and was left with just under 10bb's.
Got it in with TT the next hand and lost a flip to AQo finishing in 4th spot for around £30.
So, not the breakout score I wanted, 1st would've given me a good winning day and a bit of confidence back but I'm putting myself into good positions to get the scores, should only be a matter of time before I take one down.

Here are the full results from the session -

Total Tournaments - 6    Extra's - 1 (£2.20 Deep Stack)
Tournament Profit/Loss - £+0.62
SNG Profit/Loss - £-8.80
Total Profit/Loss - £-8.18

Bankroll - £426

So we actually ended up in a small profit for the tournaments, but the sit n go's I was playing on the side went super bad. Bubbling two and busting the third early.

Again though it's a very small losing day, so it isn't going to take much to pull the total losses back from the challenge so far.
I'm only one big score from being back to even, or even in profit.

I'll be back shortly with the schedule for this evening.

Thanks to all that have been following on here. Feel free to leave a comment if you want to see any changes to the format of the blog or any ideas for me going forward.

Have a good night guys and i'll see you again soon.

Saturday 21 October 2017

Saturday Schedule

Today is the day I finally get some run good and win a tournament.....Or at least try. Going to be starting later this evening but there is still plenty of money to be won at the tables.

Today will be an off stream session so I will be able to mix in some more sng's and cash games if I need to.
There will be more live streams coming in the near future but I won't be broadcasting all my session.

Let's get right into the tournament schedule for this evening -

Tournaments - 6
Total buy ins - £33.00

Tonight as I said will be a later start but just putting 6 tournaments in the schedule give me some flexibility to add in some sng's and cash games. I may also late reg some of the tournaments that start before 8, if I do you'll see them in the session results later on.

Hopefully I'll be back later with a recap of a huge winning saturday and a very large bankroll to work with.

Good luck to everyone grinding this evening and I'll catch you all later.

Friday Session Results

What's up guys, welcome back to the blog.

This is going to be a recap of last night's session that I streamed live on my Twitch channel.
It was also the first day of being a Twitch affiliate, so now people are able to subscribe to my Twitch channel. This was always a goal for me on Twitch and it's great to finally have the sub button.

I had one deep run in the session which luckily happened to be one of the bigger buy ins of the night, making the final table in the £11 Bounty Hunter.

Other than that it was a pretty slow night, I felt super focused even though I was streaming, but as you will see in a second, I had to skip some MTT's throughout the night to be able to concentrate and play my best game.

I forgot to add in the £3.30 Orfordable deep stack that I played to the pre game table so I will just add that one into the results. We came close to the money but busted just before the bubble.

Here are the results from the session -

Total Tournaments - 9
Tournament Profit/Loss - £-3.34
Total Cash Game Profit/Loss - £+0.40
Total Profit/Loss - £-3

Bankroll - £433

I don't normally mix cash games and tournaments in a session but we added a table in towards the end while one tabling the Megastack towards the end of the session.
I''m going to post a few of the bigger hands from the session just below, so the guys in here that missed it live can check it out. Some of the clips may be muted due to me playing copyright music on stream.

Bubble Spot in the £2.60 Satellite

Big Pot KK on way to £11 FT

Big Booty £11 BH

Flip to Busto in the £11

Finally had a nice run and made a decent size final table. Unfortunately we couldn't win the flip and finished 6th, if we finish any higher I obviously win money on the day, but I ended up pretty close to even anyway in an up and down session.

We'll be back at it tomorrow with a winning day?!

Hope you guys enjoyed the highlights and I'll see you all later.

Quick Challenge Update

Just a quick update on the bankroll.  We've hit a pretty big downswing from basically the beginning of this year, finishing the session ...
